• Israel and Egypt keep Gaza Strip borders shut

The sister of senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk is being treated in an Israeli hospital, it was revealed Monday.

Halamia Shcata, 60, is suffering from cancer and has been hospitalized in Israel on a number of occasions in the past. Shcata is in critical condition.

The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories said that Israel approves the entry each week of a number of people from Gaza and the West Bank according to humanitarian needs. The cases are tested on an individual basis by need without regard to family connections, the COGAT added.

The news came after the hospitalization of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's daughter in Israel sparked anger last month.

Marzouk accused Israel on Sunday of violating the cease-fire that ended Operation Protective Edge in August by closing border crossings into Gaza in response to rocket fire over the weekend.
